ABOUT ME!!

by - 2:50 PM

Hey, There!

Welcome to Aathidhyam!

My virtual space for random ramblings, my reflections, my cooking experiments and some ranting. Oh yes, just a bit of it.

This isn't more about me but just a little background so that you know who's the face behind. So I'm Chaitra, well that's my pen name while my actual or the known to the world name is Sindhura.

It all started in 2009 when I was on a break not knowing what to do and started documenting my mom's recipes to kill time. It's been quite some time I have been blogging but I am quite a dormant blogger. Well, my 2016 resolution is to kick my dormancy and come out of that shell and kick start blogging.

With high hopes of being a doctor, I landed up as a financial analyst at Thomson Reuters.

One thing I'll probably brag proudly is that I am a self-taught cook. When my survival on instant foods started to look dim and grim, I forced myself to cook.
With zero cooking knowledge and just going by imagination, I started dishing up pathetic food. Yes, you read it right.

If I have to share my random pathetic experiences then read on -  I pressure cooked 1 cup of dal with almost 1 litre of water. Well, I didn't know why my pressure cooker was gushing out water and that's when I realized that I need to have my math correct (measurements) while cooking.

Slowly and gradually like Darwin's evolution it started and Viola I can now cook.

Browsing food blogs gave me the much-needed inspiration and finally I was drawn into the ocean of cooking, clicking and experimenting,

Photography:
I have had several upgrades in photography. I remember capturing my recipes with a  2.5 MP camera initially for my blog (That was what all I had), so you may see some low quality or hazy pictures as you browse through 2009 collection. Subsequently, I have upgraded mine to 5 MP followed by 13 MP.

I own a DSLR now but I still need to learn the tricks and techniques.Albeit, I will still continue to hold my resistance nerve of capturing using my mobile.

Do take a minute and let me know what you feel about my blog or recipes documented here, it cheers me :).

Get onboard, let's cook and click.

  8. Chaitra, Greetings.

Just noted that you use LinkWithin as well. And here is some unsolicited advise. :)

We (me and Sudeshna) use it in our blog too and had an amzing experience with it. But have you noted that it shows 3 thumbnails and doesn't cover the entire available space.

We faced similar situation and shot an email to support@linkwithin.com requesting that it should show 5 thumbnails. And guess what? From the very next day, it started showing 5. You can do the same if you want.

    Cheers!

  16. Hi Chaitra,

You are Brilliant, Awesome, Terrific…The next Indian Master Chef in making. Never heard of food blogger before until I visited your beautifully designed site Aathidhyam (Wow!!! what a name Maa Aathidhyam sweekarinchandi). You cooked all this stuff? Bravo! Take a bow. I learnt cooking from my 5 star hotel house mate chef back in England but not as good as you :) I was drooling after looking at the pictures of those delicious dishes especially Paneer cream curry,Paneer Tikka Masala, Rajma Masala and Carrot Halwa. If tasted I am sure it would have satisfied my vaiswanara (God of Digestion). Please try some dishes with green leafy vegetables especially with palakura and shakambari devi prasadam, Andhra Shakam (Gongura) people totally forgot that they even exists.

    You rock!!!

    Cheers

    Jay
